Frequently asked questions

Where do the recommendations come from?+

mood-watch starts from compact editorial shelves and applies your answers as rules for tone, pace, runtime, genre, country and era. TMDb verifies each film, and Letterboxd can limit the search to your watchlist.

What does it do with my Letterboxd?+

If you enter your @, it reads your public film watchlist and starts there. It saves the resolved IDs for 7 days so it does not redo the work every time.

Do the watch links work?+

They point to the JustWatch or TMDb page for your country. Catalogues change often, so it's worth checking before you hit play.

What do you store?+

No account, no email, no ad tracking. Your likes and skips live in this browser. If you connect Letterboxd, film IDs are saved for 7 days to speed up the next search.

Is this psychoanalysis?+

No. It's a set of questions to sharpen a recommendation. It's not trying to tell you who you are.
